After getting my daily dose of Korean drama, Boys Over Flowers [Hana Yori Dango], I can't seem to sleep so I happily replaced my recuperation hours for Operation 01: Stalking hot Korean actor/singer Kim Hyun Joong pictures online.
Oh god, why do such gorgeous people exist? The man smiles like an angel with a punk hairstyle and Japanese face...my ideal husband! I might take a detour to Korea first before migrating to Japan!
Review for Boys Over Flowers: I've only watched until episode 5, the Korean drama sticks relatively closely to the manga, which makes it a plus point for me. (I absolutely loathe dramas that 'adapts' a brilliant Japanese manga only to steer the plot in a different direction.) The character portrayal of F4 leader Tsukasa Domyoji is brilliant, actor Lee Min Ho looks the part and acts the part. ^_^ And the same goes for my gorgeous fiancee, Kim Hyun Joong.
The only problem for me was the actress's presentation of the female protagonist Tsukushi Makino, her actions and emotions flicker from being excessively barbaric to spastic. [Read the manga and you'd understand why I'm annoyed.]
Compared to the Taiwanese version, the Korean drama works better for me, but it's the kind of drama series that bores one after a while. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not addictive or particularly captivating. Perhaps it's because I've watched the anime, the Taiwanese version, and read the manga before.
